Covergirl Queen Collection: Reviews

So I tried Queen Latifah's The Covergirl Queen Collection, which was created for women of color to match the shades of our skin without masking our natural beauty. This is fabulous because I have to mix mine to match my skintone. The foundation looks lightweight and creamy, but I was unable to try it due to my extremely fair skin. I did use the volume mascara this weekend and my lashes really looked cute. Because I wear individual and strip lashes often, I don't have much of my own anymore. This mascara did the duty, but I don't know about 5 times the volume. The packaging is pretty though.

I am definitey loving the copper bliss lipgloss. I don't wear a lot of makeup unless I have a show, but I MUST have lashes and gloss even if I am grocery shopping. It's not sticky and it has a subtle sparkle and kissable shine...and oh yes I am going to wear this gloss everyday. MUAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Love the motto too

"Every woman is a Queen, so let beauty reign"

Andre: Fashion's Bearded Lady

Well in the world of fashion, flamboyantly gay drag queens are the norm...but what do you do with a drag queen with a beard? For example, let's talk about Andre.

He has been on the cover of Vogue, graced the runway for the industry's top designers, he is BFF's with Kenny from Heatherette, and he parties with the best of them in booty shorts and a clutch purse. He never forgets his most well-known accessory: A full beard. What the hell?

Your Thoughts?

Patricia Field Launches her BARBIE Collection

Ok do these "Ken-Doll" Bartenders have on blush?

Well Patrica. So sorry to burst your bubble but I had the pink carpet first. Anyone who attended my "Scent of Pretty: Madame du Jour Product Launch" will vouch for me :)

Cute though....

What to get a Sexy Computer Geek for Christmas?

For the internet millionaire who’s all important business documents are loaded in a USB drive, spending a few extra bucks on getting a stylish USB drive is not a bad idea at all! We have earlier told you about the shiny gold and crystal embellished USB Key from Solid Alliance. The newest offering from the company is this Swarovski rhinestone USB drive necklace which can be customized with your choice of colors, patterns and you can even get your choice of alphabets engraved on it. The drives come in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB for a mere price of $155.

These glitzy USB drives are specially targeted for the female audience, so, if your girlfriend is a computer geek then this would make a perfect gift for her and it will also save you from getting pissed-off thinking what to gift her on her birthday or your anniversary.

...or what about this one:

A shiny gold and crystal embellished USB key gives the impression that your USB key is as precious as the data it carries. Oh…it does makes sense…doesn’t it! We have earlier seen some precious versions before too with the Solid Silver USB Pen and the Gold Platinum USB Drive from LG and now this one from Solid Alliance which is priced at 600 euros. This work of art is not totally made of gold, as the case is made of bronze and it includes some crystals from Statsuma Kiriko, a major Japanese crystal glassmaker. The shiny USB key was made as a tribute to the Japanese craft industry.

De Grisogono introduces fine jewellery watches that feature a unique cylinder shaped case fittingly dubbed Lipstick.

An elegant, eye-catching and innovative blend of watch design and sophisticated jewellery, the LIPSTICK watch comes in either a rectangular or cylindrical form and is set with emeralds, sapphires, rubies, or diamonds and completed with a matching galuchat strap. There are also two exceptional versions with invisibly set baguette diamonds. The fluid shaped hands are behind a convex sapphire glass.

Available in either 18 carat red or white gold, LIPSTICK is equipped with a quartz movement and is attached to the interchangeable bracelet using a doubly secure system.

You can check out the newest version inside Harper's Bazaar: December issue

Enormous Eyelash Drug - Bimatoprost

It sounds like those who love their eyelashes big and beautiful can soon throw away their mascara and stick-ons. A main ingredient (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) in a popular glaucoma medicine has the added side effect of causing eyelashes to grow.

This has caught the attention of companies who are interested in further developing this into an honest-to-goodness eyelash-fertilizer.

WOW, you mean I won't have to get the individuals anymore? What if they never stop growing or something? Sounds haute but wierd all at the same time.

Don't Point the PINK-EY Finger at Me......

...and they tell me I love pink too much. Well guess what? There is someone out there who loves pink more than I:

Betsey Johnson is one of my favorite designers. I call her "Miss Cartwheel" lol. Anyway, to enter into her New York Penthouse is to enter a world in which her imagination-as usual-runs wild. One enters through an aluminum front door resembling that of a spaceship, and lands inside the two-story penthouse.

The loft’s walls are painted a pure white (once a chrome yellow in their previous incarnation), and the floors are stained dark. Minimalist pieces such as a stark platform bed from Ligne Roset, sleek industrial cabinets with glass doors and lined in antique lace in the kitchen, and a set of classic 1960s dining chairs with curvy basket backs complete the intriguing look.

Her bedroom is “an explosion of pink,” with pink painted walls and a bright-pink embroidered silk quilt from Coco de Mer in London, a shagpile rug in a matching shade, and vases with artificial roses.

As a rose-tinted spectacle, Hollywood-style sofas and a couple of George Nelson glass-topped benches, designed in the 1940s and used as a coffee table, adorn the living room. Her mid-century pieces have been removed from storage, and include an original Womb Chair and stool by Eero Saarinen, a dark wood dining table with clean lines and Warren Platner chairs softened by a swirly botanical rug.

Now that's a lot of pink.......

With this Bling...oops I mean Ring......I be wed...

So my bestfriend is getting married next year and I am sooo excited. I love weddings, except for the fact that I get jealous and say, "Awww I want to get married too" I want the wedding and the massive wedding ring, not the husband to be clear. I always said that I wouldn't get married because guys are so overrated. In the meantime, I have been keeping a mental note of the type of ring I would want IF I were to get engaged…ya know, just in case.

I came across Abazias, this fabulous e-store that let me build my own ring and ladies, I must say, I had a little too much fun with this. I played around with so many different possibilities and I know that fashion snobs like you want things your way or no way. Here is a beauty that I personally built and her perfect stats:

My platinum baguette setting:

My VS2 emerald cut diamond:
(In most cases you see the finished product, but the ring I built was just too fabulous so I had to show my haute rock separately)

If a right hand ring or love and marriage isn't your cup of tea right now, you must must must see their extensive selection of fine jewelry, which includes everything from bracelets to necklaces to a Paris Hilton limited edition watch collection. Now many of you know that I am a stud girl and I have a thing for "over compensatory" hand accessories. A little ear bling and a huge ring finishes any look so I browsed the whole site looking for the hauteness! Check these out:

The Super Haute Diamond Cluster Earrings 1 (ct. tw)

Bezel Set Antique Style Diamond Earrings 1/4 (ct. tw)

Amethyst and Diamond Antique Style Fashion Ring 3/4 (ct. tw)

I thought you should also know that Abazias sells loose diamonds and has over 100,000 available. The free shipping and thorough diamond education guide doesn't hurt either. With that being said...what are you waiting for?

One of a Kind Decor on Bergdorf's 7th floor

Shiny Objects Made to be Grabbed Before They're Gone

Kelly Wearstler’s new 325-square-foot space on Bergdorf Goodman’s seventh floor holds just 75 items — “pretty things that are pretty unusual,” Ms. Wearstler, the Los Angeles-based designer, said — each made in very limited (5- or 10-piece) quantities exclusively for Bergdorf Goodman. And when they’re gone, they’re gone, she said. It’s a very fashion-seasonal attitude from a very fashionable designer, best known for decorating the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica and the Tides in South Beach.

At Bergdorf Goodman, Ms. Wearstler, above, displays her first housewares collection in rows of silver-leafed alcoves. Items include, top from left, a brass Golden Egg ($1,095); Gold Palms, made of brass ($1,495 for a pair); and a 12-inch chrome Kaleidoscope ($1,995). The domed chair behind her, a personal alcove in gray leather, is $18,000. Ms. Wearstler’s marble table, available by special order only, sells for $40,000. "Were in the Business of Beauty"

1,500 Mile Runway: Great Wall Of China Fendi Show

In a magnificent display of lights, models and of course, amazing clothes, Fendi presented its new collection in a fashion show on the Great Wall of China.

Making an appearance on the makeshift runway, right when the last rays of light were welcoming the guests, models in luxurious clothes took to the catwalk.

This is the first time such an event has taken place on the Great Wall. After one year of negotiations, paperwork and millions of dollars from Fendi’s pocket, it finally happend.

Fendi’s luxe collection looked even greater set in such an exquisite setting. Atmospheric lighting, great music, beautiful models, and most importantly, a perfect cut.

Despite the volume in this collection, Fendi showed accentuated waists which remind women of their femininity. Black and red were the foundational colors chosen by Karl Lagerfeld. To the delight of the guests, the colors matched perfectly with the white floors on the runway.

Hollywood stars Kate Bosworth and Thandie Newton showed up and enjoyed a memorable event along with 500 other show goers who had the pleasure and fortune to see one of the most amazing displays of fashion ever. For once, it seems the Great Wall surrendered, and it was to a fashion show. MORE

Wearable Art for the Couture Connoisseur in YOU

CARASAN COUTURE DESIGN HOUSE

Mother and daughter design team, Terri and Cassandra Rosenthol are knitting their way to the top! They specialize in creating custom hand knit couture for men and women. This includes accessories as well. I personally have a secret love affair with the hand-knitted hats. They are adorable!

Both Terri and Cassandra participated in Haute.Lanta Fashion Week last month and graciously gave away over $30,000 in product to the attendees, press, and local celebs. I am so grateful to them for the support and generosity. All HLFW models and even some of our backstage staff received a complimentary gift. By Saturday, Carasan was on the runway in an impromptu high fashion exhibit featuring their latest couture items. Not only are these women super sweet and giving, but they are EXTREMELY talented.

Please support both Terri and Cassandra. Carasan is a fabulous line and every woman should buy at least one couture item in their lifetime...per season that is. Wink Wink!
