The $45,000 Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork Bag

WTF! That's all I have to say. It's one of the most expensive bags ever sold, second to the 2005 Hermes Birkin bag that auctioned for $64,800. Two dozen preorders and they are sold out..never to be made again. Thank God!

It's not only interesting because it was custom designed by Marc Jacobs using fifteen pieces of various Vuitton bags, BUT the price can easily send one of my kids to college. So why the craze over a ridiculous looking bag that even the British press calls, "Frankenstein's monster?"

Maybe it's a publicity stunt. We all know that these high end lines aren't always in the Black. Hell until Tom Ford came along and revived Gucci and brought the house out of bankruptcy, we thought they were successful. Hmmm. It just seems to give the press something to talk about, whether it's good or bad, it's press. If not that, then we might consider that Marc did recently have a relapse with his past drug and alcohol abuse. Maybe he was high. Either way, they made a ton of money off of something that you might see at a fashion museum, not on the shoulder of Naomi Campbell.
